Gulley Awarded 2015 Gillian Scholarship

Feb
05

17 yr. old Levi Gulley, of Carmel, IN was awarded the CISS Robert Gillian Youth Scholarship at the Annual Banquet on January 31. Levi, a junior at Carmel High School, was a participant in the Wolf Fund CISS Aviation Youth Camp held this past summer. In an essay on “Why I want to Fly Gliders” submitted with his application for the scholarship, Levi stated that he has had a “strong interest in aviation for as long as I can remember”. He has become interested in the sport of soaring and wants to explore the career opportunities aviation has to offer. He also noted that there are few youth interested in flying gliders and he wants to help increase that number. Levi will start his ground training soon in preparation for flight instruction with Olaf Tessarzyk when the 2015 soaring season begins.
